Anything that does not move should be on a cable

WiFi is for phones and laptops. TVs, consoles, desktop PCs, cameras, access points and anything in a rack should be wired. A cabled network is faster, more reliable and does not care how many people are streaming. Aaron is a CNCI certified network cable installer and a Fluke certified test technician, so every run is done to standard and tested, not just plugged in and hoped for.

  • Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6a structured cabling for homes, offices and warehouses
  • Single mode and multi mode fibre, spliced, terminated and tested
  • Patch panels, cabinets and switches installed neatly and labelled
  • Fluke certification results supplied on request for commercial jobs
  • Making good after every run, so you are not left with holes

Cabling services

From a single data point behind the TV to a full office fit out.

Home data cabling

Cat6 points behind the TV, in the office, the loft and the garden room, run back to a small cabinet or cupboard.

Office and commercial

Structured cabling for desks, meeting rooms and comms rooms, with patch panels, cabinets and a labelled schedule.

Fibre optic

Fibre between buildings, across yards and into cabinets. Recently moved a live fibre feed into a new building at the Eurotunnel site in Folkestone.

Access point cabling

Cat6 to ceiling access points so the WiFi runs at full speed in every part of the building.

Camera cabling

PoE cabling for CCTV cameras and doorbells so they run on one cable with no separate power supply.

Testing and repairs

Broken sockets, damaged runs and unknown cables identified, tested and repaired or replaced.

How a cabling job works

Aaron looks at the routes, the building construction and where the points need to be. For commercial jobs, a plan is drawn up.

Data cabling and fibre questions

Cat6 or Cat6a?

Cat6 handles 1Gbps over any run length in a normal house and 10Gbps over short runs, which is plenty for almost every home. Cat6a is worth it for offices, long runs and anywhere you want 10Gbps everywhere. Aaron will recommend based on the building rather than upselling.

Can you run cables without making a mess?

Yes. We route through lofts, voids, cavities and behind skirting where we can, and where we have to chase or drill we make good afterwards. You will be told exactly where cables will run before we start.

Do you do fibre between buildings?

Yes. Single mode or multi mode fibre run in duct or armoured cable between a house and an outbuilding, or between units on a site, then spliced and terminated at both ends. It is the right answer for anything over 90 metres.

What does data cabling cost?

Domestic Cat6 points are typically from around £85 per point including the faceplate and testing, with the price dropping for multiple points on the same visit. Commercial and fibre work is quoted per project after a survey.

Can you fix a network socket that stopped working?

Yes. It is usually a damaged cable or a poor termination. Aaron will test the run, find the fault and repair or replace it, normally in one visit.

Domestic or commercial, one certified installer

From a single point to a whole building, Aaron runs it, tests it and certifies it himself.
